Guardian
This page is dedicated to the sequel to Fallen, tentatively titled Guardian. Here you will eventually find publication information, covers I make, blurbs about the book, and anything else Guardian related. But, for now, it will be used primarily to track my progress in the writing process.
Once a month, I will update the graph at the bottom of the page. For the first draft of Guardian, I am aiming for 120,000 words. The first bar represents this goal. The second bar shows how close to meeting that goal I am. Why am I only going to update this graph once a month? Because I have a full time job that requires far more of my attention than I want it to and I don't have the time to write I thought I would. It sucks, but such is life at the moment.
As of November 10th, 2009 this is my progress on Guardian:
Because of a computer issue (screen went kerplewy) I don't have any
of my additions on the computer and therefore have no accurate word
count to update. However, my guess is that it's somewhere around 95-110,000. I've cut out a couple of chapters that I thought were going
to be needed and added a lot of pages. Only a chapter and a half (and
possibly an epilogue) to go and then I have a complete first draft!
Well, I'm counting it as a second draft because of how much editing
I've already done and how much of the framework was already in place. But that's not the point. The point is that I'm a lot closer to being done and that is really good news.
As of May 6th, 2008, this is my progress on Guardian:
It's progress, but not nearly as much as I wanted. Again. April was a hellish month and circumstances beyond my control pushed writing to the back burner. I'm hoping to get a lot done (as in the rest of the book) this month, but with wedding preparations and spending time with the various family members who demand attention, I don't know if I'll have the chance. We'll see how I did when I update next month, huh? ;)

I didn't get nearly as much done as I'd hoped this month, but I've been editing a book for someone else, revising Fallen so I could send out more queries, working a lot, and trying not to collapse. Most of the progress I've made has been in the past week or so. I think that I might be able to finish it by May! Then I'll have the whole summer to write Marked and the rest of the year for Chosen. I'm excited! :D
